Crafted A Fully Customized Platform For Careismatic Brands That Could Support Over 400 Retailers
Formerly Strategic Partners, Inc., Careismatic Brands is the world's leading health care apparel and footwear company and an innovative manufacturer/distributor of school uniforms, corporate identity uniforms, adaptive clothing, and accessories. Some of the brands they encompass include Cherokees® Medical Uniforms, Dickies® Medical, and more.
As brands continued to accumulate onto the Careismatic portfolio, the need for a stronger, more stable program that could house them all securely grew. The technology they had created themselves could no longer support their own growing needs, so naturally, they began the search for a company that could.
Originally, Careismatic Brands used a very old program to support their retailers called a PIE program. This old timey platform encouraged smaller retailers to go digital and to develop their own E-Commerce stores by offering the tech and backend support they would need in order to achieve success with the digital endeavor. However, it became very difficult to keep up-to-date with the platform as it slowly became outdated and could no longer offer the support their growing list of retailers needed. And so, they decided to pursue a tech company that could sustain their newfound technological needs.
"We created PIE 15 years ago," a Careismatic representative stated, “but as technology constantly evolves, it became obsolete six months later. We also built our own CRM called Madena 15 years ago, too. But as more retailers started working with us, we realized our old platforms weren't going to keep up with all this demand. We had to start moving off of some of these older platforms because we're just not updating it the way we should be. We're not spending enough time on it nor using best practices for it. We're basically just keeping it alive and we want to take it to the next level."
They also came to understand that this new platform they required would have to be easy-to-use and simple enough so their own customers could move onto the platform with nominal effort and minimal challenges.
"We wanted to make sure that we cleaned up on our own PIE platform and that our retailers would be getting the right feeds from us and that we're improving the overall experience of all Careismatic brands that are on the platform. So, if we're gonna improve on PIE, let's also make sure that the transition to a new platform was simple, too."
After opening up their own offices in India, Careismatic Brands soon discovered Uniform Market through its CEO, Ahsok Reddy, who was also based in India with external offices in the United States. And they quickly realized, subsequently, that Uniform Market possessed all the technology that they would need to create and update a new living platform that could support all their brands and make the transition simple.
"I liked Ahsok, the CEO, a lot. He had a lot of good things to say. We knew about Uniform Market already just from being in the same space. We, ultimately, selected them because we thought they had the nimble attitude and capabilities of delivering a powerful, customized platform that could support all of our brands and retailors. Not to mention, we also liked the team and we knew right away they would do whatever it took to make it work. They will think and work outside the box. I think highly of their CEO. I liked his vision and the things he had to say. We didn't look at too many options. We knew we wanted Uniform Market."
In addition to a stable and customizable platform, Uniform Market also provided additional services that would best serve their retailers. Some of the features included the Embroidery Manager and the usage of Microsites and Preferred Groups. The Embroidery Manager would allow Careismatic's brands to customize their products with embellishments, embroidery, and style. They could create specific options for each product including cost requirements and overall theme and design. Preferred Groups afforded Careismatic Brands the ability to create a unique shopping experience for each of their specific retailers. Lastly, they used Microsites to help them inventory products by department, product logos, and grant ledger-based tracking. All while Uniform Market brands the Microsite and supports it on the backend with a team of highly-trained tech professionals. None of which was thought possible to accomplish 15 years ago.
"The support and the technical service Uniform Market offered was key. We had a team doing support on the backend, but again it was all becoming obsolete. UM offered us options we previously did not have access to including embroidery options, having the ability to have larger groups, and a lot of even our retail partners… let's say if they land a big hospital, UM can build a microsite out for them, brand it, and support it on the backend. We liked that feature. The technology is just sort of next-level compared to everyone else and we look forward to a continued relationship with UM."
