One of the largest Canadian uniform providers wanted to combine their manufacturing and distribution capabilities to secure additional accounts in the Canadian and North American governments and corporate sectors. Additionally, they wanted to pursue secondary sources of revenue and business acquisition opportunities.
The corporate apparel distributor encountered difficulties and were challenged to provide an e-commerce solution that would best support and service the end user: their employee. The struggle intensified when they realized they needed to provide a solution that would accommodate the rather complex rules and procedures of the airline industry with the demand to make such ever-evolving dynamic changes to their sector and organization. Factors such as job function, geography, seniority, or hire date can cause significant challenges just by themselves. So, needs varied.

Enter Uniform Market. The apparel distributor giant reached out to the Uniform Market in the hopes of developing a platform that could create new ways to organize and improve overall functionality of the site and allow employees to order and obtain their own uniforms.
Through our platform, we did exactly that. We created a system that allowed the client's employees to have ease-of-access in the ability to log on and instantly purchase approved items that are required for them to wear on the job. Our solution is designed with a special focus on the end user in mind. We provide them with a smooth and simple experience and give them all the necessary information and functionality that's needed in order to purchase their uniforms.
Some of the other features of the platform we built included automatically refreshing the employee profile, building an accrued point and quota system, implementing job function and product catalogs, calculating estimated shipping costs, offering varying forms of payment such as credit card, debit, payroll, and lastly, enabling a live chat feature for direct support to employees.
By improving the overall efficiency of their uniform services and enabling them to sell work apparel directly to employees, we were able to create a uniform program specific to locations, departments, and dress code colors without having to scale back in manpower. The end result caused in a rise in office morale and happier employers with more autonomy over their uniform selection. We helped managers be less stressed in their day-to-day operations knowing employees can better take care of themselves while offering systems that closely align with CBA business rules. And lastly, it reduced the involvement of managers, HR, and administrators in the uniform program, so employees can watch after themselves while managers can focus on the more important day-to-day activities and responsibilities of everyday work life.
